food distribution

We do this mainly by providing a food parcel twice a month .

The 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month there is food distribution. This from 13:00 to 17:30.

Sell clothes

Every Tuesday between 13:00-17:00 the clothing store is open for our customers, residents of Hasselt-Kortessem. No appointment is needed anymore.

If you have any second-hand clothing in good condition, you can bring it to us at the same times as mentioned above to support our work.

Our customers are then welcome to come and buy second-hand clothing at democratic prices.

Payment must always be made in cash and no exchanges are possible.

All income from clothing sales will flow back to the work for the underprivileged . It makes it possible to buy extra food; other necessary products for the household or to provide emergency aid for the underprivileged.

Are you eligible ?

To determine who is eligible, Vincentius works together with the Social Services of the city of Hasselt. Based on a limited financial investigation, a social worker checks whether the income of people who want to participate is below the established minimum threshold.

For this research, in addition to income, the family composition and the rent or mortgage loan are primarily taken into account. Extraordinary costs can always be taken into account. During the conversation, it can also be checked whether the client has any other questions for help.

The social workers of the social service are all bound by professional secrecy , and the confidential treatment of the information provided by a citizen is therefore guaranteed.

Non-binding information can always be obtained by telephone (011 23 90 00 or the free number 0800 90 280) or by sending an email to the social service (socialedienst.ocmw@hasselt.be)

changing couch

All children up to 5 years old who are part of our customer base receive up to 80 diapers (pampers) per month for free. We also provide a pack of baby wipes and twice a year there is zinc ointment for the baby's bottom. The distribution takes place at the same time as the biweekly food distribution.

We invite everyone to collect and hand in surplus diapers at a local collection point of the so-called Pamperbank. (www.hasselt.be/ Pamperbank)
